For sale is my 1974 Avenger 1600 Deluxe. I got this in October 2001, with the intention of learning how to weld with it. So I've replaced both front jacking points, the left outer and much of the inner sill and the right outer sill, and fixed holes in the front crossmember to get it through the MOT. This was when it won its first show award - the ASOC "Workhorse" award. Other welding includes making both rear corners and wheelarches sound, 2 new wings were added then the car was painted by myself - primer on by roller and topcoat sprayed.
Other work done to the car - new brake master cylinder, new seals and pistons in the front brakes, new rear wheel cylinders, new friction material all round; new shocks front and rear(these ones are gas).
Outer headlamps have been converted to H4 halogen lamps, because it was my only useable car during winter 2004-5, and this included some business use - it's great in traffic, people let you out to see what the hell it is!
There's a host of history from before I got it - there includes some information on a previous owner, a titled "Lady", who spent a lot of money on it. Just before I got it , it had had a new clutch fitted. The release bearing squeaks but I've heard of other Avengers doing this.
It's not concours- the interior need sorting for that, and the paint's not too good - it's a 30 foot car, not good for close-ups, but looks good from across the street. It could do with a new vinyl roof, but you could just leave it as is and drive it.
It has a new centre exhaust section, and the downpipe is included, as the old one wasn't gubbed - if it ain't broken, don't fix it.
