Chrysler 180 / 2 Litre - a big and relatively sumptious saloon - an Avenger on Steroids perhaps? Talbot Tagora - a sales flop - overpriced and er, understyled?

Someone on retro rides has a 180. Pretty sure there's a Tagora there too

I know one guy who has a red Chrysler 180 and another who owns a couple of Tagora's, one of which is concours and both people are members of the Avenger & Sunbeam owners Club as we've seen them at our National Weekend. Also one member had a Tagora engine in his Talbot Sunbeam, it looked amazing like an F1 engine.

I still see Chrysler Centuras around every now and again. "Centura" is what the 180 was called in Australia. They were bigger sellers here than in the UK because we had a choice of four or six cylinder versions, and of course we don't have quite the same problem with rust.

You may be interested to know there is a Centura at the Transport Museum in Coventry. They have it hidden away not on display. Chrysler brought it over to UK too see if the 245 Hemi version would be suitable for the market. I guess since it's the only one they found it wasn't! The museum don't know what it is and I had to tell them, since Chrysler left UK abruptly in the late 70's and Talbot weren't interested in keeping records or doing anything useful then this car got lost.

There's a decent write up on the Australian version here, including the Hemi-6 model. www.rootes-chrysler.co.uk/car-development/dev-centura.htmlBefore you get too excited note that the Australian Hemi-6 was a different animal to the US Hemi V8! i/we need more info on this, a hemi in a 180's got to be pic worthy at the very least if you have some pics.

I did reply to this before, but it seems to have been lost. Anyway, as I said before, the only Hemi I know of is the big yank V8s, didn't realise there was any other kind.
Still, I wouldn't say no if I was offered the chance of one.
