Hi.... recently joined the forum and already seeing several usernames I recognise from the other sites I regularly visit. These turbo avengers of yours are interesting mechno'. Love the ingenuity of 'pocketing' the block. Never come across this before. Was planning to go J power with my custom rapier project, but have decided to stay true to the marque and turbocharge the original engine.
Still working on the bodywork at the moment but should be done before autumn, then it's on with the engine. So.... as many pics of your handywork as possible mechno'. What I've seen so far on your other thread is really inspiring me to complete. Excellent work!!

Pocketing the block is an old skool trick. Mini owners have been doing it for years, they use it to fit 1300cc cylinder heads to 1000cc engines.

Done 1000 miles now time for grief, but clutch slip !!! cant take the power and its a new clutch Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm Take a standard flywheel (standard clutch in place 7.5" ) and jig drill holes as seen to suit this SAAB 900 Turbo cover 8.5" ( takes 204 bhp in standard form )and RS 2000 clutch plate, could have said Transit plate but does not sound as good !!! Flywheel in the lathe being skimmed will fit it next week when the new parts arrive then give it some wellie and more boost

Having fitted a bigger clutch and wound the boost to 11lbs, problem cant stop it, when driving like a bank robber !!! ( Ken not my son Adam ) So need 4 pots and vented discs, using Peugeot 405 discs 264mm dia, machined centre out 0.5 mm and drilled 4 mounting holes, Rover SD1 Vittesse callipers single pipe, available new at £89 straight bolt on and bigger than Princess callipers. Pistons are 41mm diameter, Princess 38 mm so just got to decide 19mm Avenger Estate, 22.2mm SAAB or 25mm Land Rover master cylinder. If that dosent stop it Peugeot 308 284mm dia discs and Range Rover callipers next!!! Adams pretty Beam is going to get some grief as soon as I have fitted them!!!

Fitted Rover SD1 Vitesse callipers (has vented discs as standard) spaced with 2mm washers to centralise it, Peugeot 405 / 306 vented discs machine centre bore out by 0.5 mm and drill 4 hub mounting holes, fit SAAB 900 22.5mm master, serious stopping power ;D all just bolt on, only had to make 2 new brake pipes. Suspension next!!! Then more power ;D ;D ;D ;D Callipers are available new from Rimmer Bros for £89 each, Landrover 110 has a 25mm master cylinder part No. NRC 8690 (ebay £30- £40), cheaper than the SAAB one (but I had a SAAB one in stock!!)
