New Guy with a question and some pics!

Hi all,

First, an introduction...

My name's Matt, I'm a Graphic Designer based in East Anglia - been into old cars since I was a lad. I've tinkered wit ha few old cars in the past including an FD Victor Estate and my current toy, Series 3 4.2 Jag XJ6... But Rootes Group cars, I know nothing about... Looking forward to learning!

I've just put a deposit down on a B-E-A-utiful 1960 Humber Hawk (Picking it up on Friday - can't wait!)

I've been searching the 'net for info on these things, but it seems few and far between... If anyone has any links I'd be most grateful!

The car I'm picking up Friday has what I imagine is a standard, 4 speed column change manual 'box... I see the car as more of a cruiser - so I'd love to put an autobox in somehow - can anyone give me any info, or point me in the direction of a suitable autobox donor? Could you have one from the factory with an autobox? Would I be able to use one from any other Rootes cars?

I pick the car up tonight, with a 80-odd mile journey home... Hope I'll get used to the column change by then!
