I hate brand snobbery of any kind, I'd never be allowed into Australia if my views on the V8 Supercars were made public lol. That's a heck of a road trip for the Husky, good on ya. What ever car I have next, it will get extensive use, mainly just because it's been so long since I had a car lol.

Nick,
My own views on V8 Supercrap racing may be similar to yours, basically I think they are boring, overhyped, s***e. Rest assured that we are not the only ones of this view, however the formula was strongly supported by two manufacturers (Ford and GMH) and eagerly lapped up by the yobs who can't count beyond 2.
The rise V8 Supercrap during the 1990s took away much of the enjoyment (for me) of watching motorsport. Instead of multiple manufacturers with much overseas participation Bathurst was reduced to two makes - Holden and Ford. The fields were much smaller, and the attrition during a 1000 km race on a 6 kilometre track) meant that half the time the spectators are looking at nothing but the track.
V8 Supercrap was essentially born when a bunch of drunken yobs at Bathurst didn't like their Fords/Holdens being beaten by the Godzilla Skylines. After some encouragement from the main Ford driver of the time, they roundly booed the winner of the race, who promptly (and correctly) called them a pack of ahh.... fundamental orifices.
Rant over,
Cheers, Vic
