Must confess nothing Rootes at the moment. My first car was a '58 Minx Special, I've had about 6 Imps including 2 998cc. rally cars and a Stiletto and a (fake) Avenger Tiger rally car.
I'm led to believe I was almost born in a Humber. My father had sold it on before I was old enough to notice, it was always just known as "The Humber" so I've no idea what model. It would have been pre-war. He also had a s/v "Mark"Minx Estate and a fastback Rapier. Oh and a Commer camper van.

I have a 1963 series 3a Rapier. I have owned the car for over 2 years during which time I have and still am carrying out improvements I owned a 1972 Avenger the first time around. It was a good family car for many years fond memories.

'CYD' looks smashing Thankyou - unfortunatley as time goes on and the paint flattens things don't look quite as nice underneath Is it still drums on the front end? Oh yes, drums on the fron and standing up braking ;D Currently in the middle of refurbing the dash (which was painted, rusty and a mess) and fitting a new (old) dizzy and refitting the (hopefully) refettled steering box - although this remains to be seen Jim
