Hi, I am a new member to the forum but have been a long standing owner of Rootes Group Vehicles. At the moment I own an Avenger Tiger 1, Hillclimb Imp & in the process of rebuilding a Clan Crusader. One of my other interests is to collect model cars & trucks. I want to build models of the Rootes Group Car transporters, delivery vans & trucks. I have tried to search on the iternet to find pictures(preferably colour) of such vehicle but have only found one, a red Commer TS3 & trailer with Hillman bodyshells on it. Can anybody please help?

Much of the transportation of vehicles was carried out by outside contractors so the transporters used would carry the name and livery of the transportation company not the Rootes livery

In Australia, Green and McCandlish were the interstate contractors from Port Melbourne, however Victorian dealers usually picked up from Distributor, Neal's Motors. I recall family having to get six vehicles Melbourne to Albury for the local Agricultural Show display with only two pairs of Trade plates. Each group of three travelled in convoy with same no. plate & rear, middle car close by with nothing; in those days running in speed was 30-35 mph.

QX Transporters taken from Heritage Commercials magazine and the cover RACT New Devonshire House" magazine. I recall seeing photo of a Superpoise pickup in Dark Blue with yellow writing and 1/2 ton Express van also in Dark Blue, yellow sign-writing and front guards. It surprised me to see they were Bright Red on the magazine cover.

Hi, thanks for the info. I think you add the pics as an attachment. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Cheers, Gethin.
