Back on the rebuild, got my sideplate back from the platers, so fit it, temporary with old bolts so I can get some oil in. Cant fit the oil cooler sandwich plate as I'd loose all the oil! Turned it with the ratchet to circulate it. Dont know if this is enough to pull it through the system. Any thoughts anyone? Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Uploaded with ImageShack.usWell this was the bit I have been waiting for! The tee piece enables me to run oil round the top 1/2 of the engine (I was turning the engine the wrong way before). Once I wired a battery to the old starter I stuck on all ran ok.

Things are slow at the moment, managed to fabricate an alternator mounting bracket from stainless, Had to get a 3/8" unc tap to clear the threads in the block. Here it is in situ. Also polished my alternator and fitted it. Have to do fomething with the starter soon I think!

Been a bit quiet of late (on here as well) been trawlin the net for bits. Well I took the alt brkt off to adjust the holes, removed starter to refurb at same time. But, on the + side bought a 4 branch exhaust on ebay £120. Blasted it & found some holes so TIG welded them - all ok. Sprayed it with very high temp paint. This is used on jet engines!!!! so should be fine for my toy. By dodgealpine at 2011-09-19 All ongoing Watch this space! Im getting close to a trial run before it goes in my Alpine any tips? I dont want it dancing round the garage. By dodgealpine at 2011-09-19 When all assembled there is a 3mm step between the2 manifolds so they will need to be the same or a stepped washer made.
