Hello I am a new member from Sweden. There are other Rootes car discussion forum, Imp, Commer, Hillman cars, but I expect you know this. It will be interesting to see how this will develop. Interest for the Avenger are grooving and that is good. See how scarce the Escort Mk 1 are. The same is happening to Avengers. But remember, Avenger is a better car!!!

Welcome. Yes, the Avenger is a much better car. The british touring car championship in 1974, 76 and 77 proved that quite nicely ;D

Hi all, a quick introduction from me. A few of you will know me from RR and formerly the Imp Club forum, but I have tastes far outstretching that place so I don't exactly fit in anymore. I'm sure I will fit in here though

Hi to you all! I'm in the sunbeam alpine owners club & am running a 1965 series IV, modified with a 1725 Holbay engine and a bit of chrome. Nice to find a Rootes site. ,

That sounds very good, this isn't the most active of forums, but any details you can give us on your car will be warmly received.

Just signed up to the ProBoard. I'm currently negotiating on a 1959 Minx Convertible. Hope to have the deal done in the next few weeks. I'll enjoy driving it here on the Canadian Prairies.

Welcome! Another forum about old cars? Surely there's enough? Well, no. From experience, there's alot of 'gaps' out there, especially when it comes to Rootes products. Sure, Imps get plenty of coverage, with the excellent & well organised Imp Club. The Commer vans get a share too care of Commervanfan etc. But what of the rest? Arrow-series, Avengers, Super Minx & family.... when trying to find sources of information on cars like these it's like hitting a brick wall. So why not a forum to bring it all together under one roof? Share knowledge, experience & the joy of Rootes right here. Whether it's a 1955 Minx Californian, a '67 Super Snipe or an '82 Avenger, all welcome here. What ever happened to the manufacturing drawing of Rootes cars, eg Hillman minx, after the company was brought? Is their an archive ?
